Thursday's Tip: Tea Time Friend Gift

Making this 'Sweet' little gift for a friend is sure to bring a smile and some tummy filled enjoyment too! Our new Tea Time Party Cut It Set makes a gift like this super easy.

Begin by sizing down and cutting out two of the paper teacups. You will want the tea cup just big enough to hold a single tea bag. Make sure you flip one over before cutting if your paper is printed. Glue around the handle and 3 sides of the tea cup. This will leave a little pocket to slip a tea bag into.
Add the embellishments, and cut out the 'sweet' tag from the set to add a little note to the tea bag tag.

Add extra support to your cookie tray by cutting out two sets and gluing them together!

Make some little cupcakes and treats, because what girl doesn't like a little something sweet with her tea, not to mention, who can resist these darling cupcake wraps?!

Thursday's Tip: Hand-print Leprechaun Kid's Craft

I always try to do a fun decoration with my son for each of the holidays, and when I found this idea on Pinterest I knew he'd have a blast re-creating it. Not only is it really cute, but its super easy to make!

Materials:

Holiday Hats SVG
card stock
orange and peach paint
glue
glitter
black sharpie

Directions:

1. Begin by painting your child's hand, excluding the thumb, in the two colors of paint. You have to move quickly so you can get it printed before it dries. Print it onto white card stock and let dry.

2. Measure your child's palm and then re-size and cut out the leprechaun hat from the Holiday Hats SVG so that it will fit appropriately on top of the palm.

3. Using a black sharpie or marker, have your child give the little hand leprechaun a fun face.

4. I then let him add green glitter glue to the hat, because who doesn't love a hat that sparkles?!

5. Once everything is dry, assemble the hat and adhere to the top of the Hand-print leprechaun.

Hang up and enjoy!

Thursday's Tip: Pencil and Notecard Set

This fun gift is a breeze to make and is sure to make any friend or teacher smile.

Materials:
Fall Forget Me Nots Paper Pack
Fall Forget Me Nots Graphic Set
Pencils
Note pad
Mod Podge
Clear Acrylic Spray

Directions:
I begin by creating an 8.5" by 11" document in Photoshop (or like program) and layered my Fall Forget Me Nots Paper Pack spaced about 1 3/8"inch apart. I printed this on regular printer paper and then took outside and covered with a clear acrylic spray. Let it dry and repeat the process a couple more times. When it was completely dry I used my paper cutter to cut out the strips that were 6 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide.

Adhere the strips to the pencils by painting a thin coat of Mod Podge to the back of the strip. Lay pencil towards one end and tightly begin to roll the paper around the pencil. You may need to add more Mod Podge while doing this. Then paint one more coat of Mod Podge over the entire shaft of the pencil. Let dry.

Continue to do this until all the pencils are covered.

I found my note pad at the dollar store, and fortunately it had a cute design that actually matched, but if you can't find one that matches, no worries. Print some more coordinating paper and using the same technique for the pencil, you can cover your note pad. I went ahead and cut out and additional strip of paper to wrap around it and embellished with raffia and a tag from the Fall Forget Me Nots Graphic Set.

Once all the pencils are dry, wrap some raffia around the bundle and they are ready to be gifted!

Valentine Mailbox Help

If you are looking to build our Valentine Mailbox SVG's, I've created a little guide of the essential pieces and where they adhere to. The rest of the items in the set are decorative and can be placed where ever you desire.

In a nutshell you must use a front, either piece #8 or #11. #15 Glues to front edge of #10 or #11, depending on which piece you used. #12 is your bottom. Fold #14 into a horseshoe like shape and adhere to #12. Adhere your back (#10) to the back of #14 and top of #12. Lastly, adhere whichever front you made, then add embellishments or other elements as you desire.

I hope this helps! If not check out a finished product at the amazing blog of Jin Yong at Under the Cherry Tree!

Thursday's Tips: Valentine Disguises

Here's a fun Valentine idea that sends the kiddos home with a disguise instead of more candy. Using the Funny Faces SVGs, these Valentines are easy to make and so quick to put together.

Materials:
Funny Faces SVGS
LD Brownnose
LD This and That
LD Bella
card stock
google eyes
glue

Directions:
Begin by creating a simple card in Photoshop, Illustrator or like program. I made mine 5" by 7", but you could easily do smaller for smaller kids. For my journaling, scripty font I used LD Bella, and then I used LD Brownnose on the mustache card and LD This and That on the glasses card. I printed the cards out when they were done and began to cut out my fun and essential elements, (the mustache and the heart glasses.)

To slip the glasses onto the Valentine, you will need to make two slits for the side pieces to slid through. To do this, I just laid the glasses down on top of the card and marked off the spots where I wanted to make the slit. Make sure the slit is long enough for the widest part to slide in. Also I made the slit in a place that wouldn't show under the heart frame. Lay down your card on a cutting mat and then tightly hold a ruler down on top while you slid and exacto knife across where you want the slit.

The back should look like this.

For the mustache I wanted the kids to be able to remove the mustache and actually wear it. So I secured two 3-D dots to the back of the mustache leaving the back side of the sticker covering the adhesive. Then I used my glue gun to secure the mustache to the card.

Then you have some happy kids getting some fun disguises to play with on Valentines!
