Thursday's Tip: Pencil and Notecard Set
This fun gift is a breeze to make and is sure to make any friend or teacher smile.
Materials:
Fall Forget Me Nots Paper Pack
Fall Forget Me Nots Graphic Set
Pencils
Note pad
Mod Podge
Clear Acrylic Spray
Directions:
I begin by creating an 8.5" by 11" document in Photoshop (or like program) and layered my Fall Forget Me Nots Paper Pack spaced about 1 3/8"inch apart. I printed this on regular printer paper and then took outside and covered with a clear acrylic spray. Let it dry and repeat the process a couple more times. When it was completely dry I used my paper cutter to cut out the strips that were 6 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide.
Adhere the strips to the pencils by painting a thin coat of Mod Podge to the back of the strip. Lay pencil towards one end and tightly begin to roll the paper around the pencil. You may need to add more Mod Podge while doing this. Then paint one more coat of Mod Podge over the entire shaft of the pencil. Let dry.
Continue to do this until all the pencils are covered.
I found my note pad at the dollar store, and fortunately it had a cute design that actually matched, but if you can't find one that matches, no worries. Print some more coordinating paper and using the same technique for the pencil, you can cover your note pad. I went ahead and cut out and additional strip of paper to wrap around it and embellished with raffia and a tag from the Fall Forget Me Nots Graphic Set.
Once all the pencils are dry, wrap some raffia around the bundle and they are ready to be gifted!
